I am a nerd. When I was nine years old, I started carrying a briefcase to school, and by twelve I had learned to ignore the other kids’ remarks and moved up to a Samsonite. I have always been fascinated with subjects that others thought boring; at thirteen, my brothers and sister would look at me with incredulity as I watched Washington Week in Review and Louis Rukeyser’s Wall Street Week. I spent my teenage years studying math and computer programming and running my own businesses. I have spent a lifetime understanding and making predictions about business and the world.
I feel fortunate to have been born in the computer and data age because they have provided the backdrop for my analytical skills. The increasing importance of computer-informed and computer-controlled systems is why I am studying Predictive Analytics at Northwestern University. The world is going do be a different place in ten years, and if you doubt it, I would suggest The Singularity is Near by Ray Kurzweil.
On these few pages, you will find ideas, images, and technologies. I hope you find them as fascinating as I do.
